June 18 just happened to be a big day. As I was sitting at my computer, I checked my email, went off and worked on a project, and came back less than an hour later and had 4 sales notifications in my Inbox (which are shown below with a date of Jun 20, 2011 since that was the day I shipped them).
Here’s the summary of what I ended up selling on Amazon from June 12 – June 20, 2011.

Here’s what each column means:
- Sales. The price for which the item sold.
- Amazon Fees. This is the fee Amazon kept as their portion (aka commission and the cost of postage).
- Other. This is the credit I was given to ship the item (typically $2.98 for the one DVD, and $3.99 for the books).
- Total. This is the amount I made after the fees were deducted and the shipping credit was given.
If you add up the amounts under the Total column, you’ll see I made $47.87.
Be sure to notice that for every single item, I still made more money beyond the sales price – even after the fees were deducted. This is due to the fact the actual cost I pay for shipping is lower than the credit that Amazon gives.
