Is a garage for parking a car? That was news to us as we never had a garage clean enough to hold a car. Throughout the decades, our garages were used to house all the stuff we had purchased, but never used. Most were decor items. About every 10 years for the past 30 years, we have rented a dumpster, and filled it to the brim with trash. (No. We’re not sloppy people. In fact, we’re quite the opposite. Still, we had things that could absolutely go such as old boxed, non-working mowers, old construction materials such as wood and paints.
Here are some pictures of our last home and the garage we decided to majorly declutter before we moved.
Even after this declutter, we still had enough to fill up the 2-car garage at our new home.
Yes: this was a massive undertaking, but it was something we needed to do. It also didn’t happen overnight. The take-away from this is that it does take time. Have some patience with yourself. Try to do something every day, and you will see changes happen.
